Wannabe Chef: Hi, my name is Gilly. I'm first and most importantly a mother of 4 beautiful children. I'm also a part-time IT consultant and Wannabe Chef. For years I've said "If I wasn't in IT I'd be a chef". Well I decided that I could probably do both and embarked on becoming a qualified chef by undertaking CIT Commercial Cookery course part-time. After 3 years study the end is finally here and have gained industry experience along the way. There's a little way to go before I can call myself a chef but I'm determined to fufill this dream. By no means is working as a Chef an easy job. The money is lousy, hours are bad and it is really hot and heavy work. But the job satisifaction is increbidibly high as nothing beats a great meal. One day I'll have my own cafe Gilly Gourmet so until then the journey continues.
